Congratulations to Homer Brink 4th grade teacher, Adriane Deyo, on earning Master Teacher recognition in NYS. The New York State Master Teacher Program is a dynamic network of more than 1400 outstanding public school teachers throughout NYS who share a passion for their own STEM learning and for collaborating with colleagues to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders.

For her 4 year term, Mrs. Deyo has to complete 50 professional development hours per year, in addition to what the district requires.

Adriane Deyo earned her Bachelor's Degree in Childhood Education from the State University of New York at Oneonta as well as a Master’s Degree in Reading and Literacy from Walden University. Mrs. Deyo has taught in the elementary classroom for 15 years, with the majority of her tenure in 4th grade, at Homer Brink Elementary School in Endwell, NY. She has played an integral part in the Odyssey of the Mind program at the elementary level, assisting in the coordination and coaching of teams in grades K-5 for over ten years. She has been involved in leading professional development training for her colleagues in the areas of science and technology and has served on district-level committees in both science and social studies curriculum development. She mentors new teachers and has hosted several interns from SUNY Binghamton University and SUNY Cortland. Mrs. Deyo is passionate about Earth Sciences and geology, as well as infusing technology in her teaching and having her students learn science concepts through inquiry. When she's not in the classroom, Mrs. Deyo enjoys hiking with her husband and daughter, reading a great book, and traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. As a New York State Master Teacher, Mrs. Deyo looks forward to collaborating with other professional educators and bringing new ideas back to her classroom that inspires and motivates her students.
