Superintendent's Newsletter

September 2023

Welcome to the Maine-Endwell Central School District, where our mission is to deliver a premier educational experience to each student, and we promise to graduate your child(ren) as well- rounded, community minded, global-thinkers, leaders, and innovators. Our first core belief is students are our priority, and we will always make decisions in their best interest.

Our district is proud to offer a variety of outstanding programs. Academically, we offer Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment (college course work that meets high school criteria while earning college credit) through SUNY Broome and Binghamton University, Work-Based Learning opportunities through BT BOCES and district-sponsored partnerships with local businesses, exploration and enrichment grades K-8, and intervention support and special services as needed.

Annually named a Best Communities for Music Education (NAMM), our district celebrates and supports music education and is committed to providing each child with an opportunity to participate. Our music program includes chorus, band, and orchestra ensembles with group, and individual lessons, and other electives including guitar, piano, and music history and theory. Our student-musicians regularly perform at the highest level in state and national competitions.

Our district has a variety of athletic teams with high participation rates and our student- athletes are perennial competitors for section and state championships. Our facilities are top notch, and we provide the services of an athletic trainer and strength and conditioning trainer to ensure safety and proper care. Sportsmanship and community outreach are important to our culture and the robust numbers of our little leagues and youth programs support this belief.

After school programs include both clubs and activities for students grades 3-12 along with partnerships with local organizations to provide wrap-around care grades K-5. Our extended day and year programs focus on academic support, physical fitness, and social and emotional wellness activities. Our district focuses on the needs of the whole child. We want to ensure families have the necessary supports in place year-round.

A Maine-Endwell education provides a child with a wide range of experiences and opportunities. Our goal is for every child to leave as confident thinkers, responsible citizens, and life-long learners.
