Riegle Family

Spartan students Ravi, Nicholas and Priya Riegle went to Washington, D.C. March 6-8 to be trained as junior youth ambassadors for the Tourette Association of America.

After their ambassador training the Spartans joined 280 other children and adults at Capitol Hill for Advocacy Day on March 8.  Each of the Riegles had a chance to speak to legislative assistants for Senator Chuck Schumer, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and met directly with Congressman Marc Molinaro.  Ravi and Nicholas spoke about their personal experiences of having Tourette Syndrome and Priya discussed her experience as their sibling.  As a family, they advocated for continued awareness and funding for education and research on Tourette Syndrome.  Our Spartan family is excited to return to D.C. next year for Advocacy Day!

Tourette Syndrome is a neurological condition which causes involuntary movements and sounds, called tics.  For further information check out: Tourette.org.
