SUBSTITUTE SCHOOL NURSES

LOCATION: VARIOUS HOURS: 7.5 Hours/Day

RATE OF PAY: $23.45 / hour

EFFECTIVE DATE OF ASSIGNMENT: Upon Board Approval

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:

· Be available to cover a building in the absence of regular nurse.
· Administer annual screening procedures for all pupils as needed.
· Assist school physician with routine medical examinations and with special examinations as needed.
· Administer first aid care in case of emergencies.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Be eligible for a New York State Registered Professional Nurse’s license.
· Possession of the license at the time of appointment.
