JULIE GALLAGHER

Julie Gallagher is the Maine-Endwell director of K-12 Instruction. Prior to this role, Mrs. Gallagher served as the High School assistant principal and then principal. She is a former High School business teacher and also taught elementary reading. She began her career at Maine-Endwell in 1990.

 

Mrs. Gallagher received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from State University of New York at Albany and her Master of Science degree in Reading from Binghamton University. She earned her teaching certification from State University of New York at Oneonta and her Certificate of Advanced Study from State University of New York at Cortland.

THE ROLE OF THE DIRECTOR OF K-12 EDUCATION

Maine-Endwell’s Director of K-12 Education is responsible for the development of the  educational and assessment program as it aligns with NYS and district standards. The director is also responsible for professional development and instructional technology support for staff.

Duties include:
Instructional Support Services:

  • Development and supervision of K-12 Instructional Support Services pertaining to; Professional Development, Instructional Technology Support, and District Technology Plan;

  • Development and supervision of K-12 Teacher Mentor program; 

  • Organize, administer, and coordinate the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the District’s Federal and State accountability systems including the Annual Professional Performance Review plan (APPR); 

  • Evaluation of Instructional Support Services staff and program effectiveness;

  • Participate in hiring and evaluation of Instructional Support Services staff;

  • Develop annual budget and make recommendations to the Superintendent of Schools;

  • Represent District on State and Local planning committees, taskforces, or attend conferences as needed.


Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment:

  • Development of K-12 educational program aligned to required NYS standards and / or district standards where applicable;

  • Development of K-12 educational assessment system aligned to NYS standards and / or district standards where applicable;

  • Development of K-12 instructional expectations based on scientific / empirical based practices and / or district expectations where applicable;

  • Development of K-12 educational intervention systems aligned to District Response to Intervention model;

  • Support building level administration and staff in the implementation of the District’s curriculum, instruction, assessment, and intervention models;

  • Evaluation of K-12 staff and program effectiveness;

  • Participate in hiring and evaluation of K-12 staff;

  • Develop annual budget and make recommendations to the Superintendent of Schools for K-12 curriculum, instructional, assessment, and intervention needs;

  • Represent District on State and Local planning committees, taskforces, or attend conferences as needed.
