This Thursday, 3/21, is World Down Syndrome Day. Each building is asking students and staff to wear Blue and Gold that day, the colors that represent WDSD. We are also doing a collection for GiGi's Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Center, as many of our students attend programs at GiGi's. See flyer below for wish list items to support our friends and classmates at Gigi's Playhouse.
Collections of items will be from 3/21-3/28 in the following places:

Middle School- Mrs. Erb's room
High School- Mrs. Simek in the Counseling Office
The Spartan Theatre Company will present Something Rotten!

Important Message from Maine-Endwell CSD:
The district will have an early-release day on Monday, April 8. The early release is to address potential safety concerns related to the solar eclipse that will be visible in New York State during dismissal times.
• The High School and Middle School will be dismissing at 11:30AM
• Homer Brink and Maine Memorial will be dismissing at 12:30PM

YOUTH APPRENTICESHIP: High school YAP student, Noah Gray was celebrated in Mrs. Strano's 2nd grade classroom today. Mr. Gray has spent the past 20 weeks working in my classroom for the Youth Apprenticeship Program offered through the high school. We said goodbye to him today as he will be moving on to kindergarten this week. Throughout this time, Mr. Gray has learned what it’s like to be an elementary teacher.
CLASS OF 27' FUNDRAISER: Skip a night of cooking and support the Class of 2027! The M-E Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony is taking place in between the Boys JV & Varsity Basketball games on Friday, January 26th. The approximate start time of the ceremony is 6:30pm.
ATTENTION: All after school activities, practices, and contests are canceled for Tuesday, January 23rd | For the Middle School and High School, all activity period buses will be canceled | Middle School and High School students need to ride their normal PM bus routes home.
STRESS RELIEF: The Mindful M-E Club brought in the District's Therapy Dogs today to help students, faculty, and staff de-stress before Regents and Midterm Exams!

At tonight’s BOE meeting we recognize Pastor Jim Barnes from First Baptist Church in the Town of Maine.
Pastor Barnes not only provides snacks to our teachers regularly but also opens his doors to our students when they practice their evacuation & reunification drills.
FOOD TRUCK SHOWCASE: This morning, students in Mrs. Murat's class presented their Food Trucks to a panel of judges, including two REAL food truck owners from 'The Kitchen Counter'!

MEHS has a new club called "Include with M-E" and its purpose is to spread acceptance and promote inclusion of people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). The club is kicking off with a celebration of Inclusive Schools Week from December 4th-8th. At the HS they will start the week with an informational table for the club and will end the week on Friday by wearing Orange for IDD awareness. All other schools are welcome to join in wearing Orange on Friday, 12/8!
