10 years ago in June, Ms. Burghardt had her 3rd grade students write a letter to themselves for their high school graduation. Letters included questions like: What kind of car do you drive? Was your prom dress sparkly?, and even Do you remember your best friends from 3rd grade? Some students predicted college paths or hobbies turned into careers.
After years of safe keeping, on Thursday, Ms. Burghardt delivered these letters to the now graduating seniors. Students enjoyed reading their thoughts from a decade ago and had a good laugh about how different their lives turned out than their 9-year-old selves predicted.
Ms. Burghardt was selected as a Distinguished teacher and will be participating in the graduation ceremony with the Class of 2023.
