music

This past weekend, members of the high school music department traveled to Boston for a performance in conjunction with the festival, Music in the Parks. The groups all took first place, the choirs received the overall choir award, and the entire group also received the Esprit de Corps trophy.

Overall trophies are presented to the highest scoring ensemble in the division.

Esprit de Corps is presented to students from a school who demonstrated proper social behavior as well as musical behavior/encouragement. They possess the qualities of highly successful people who are sensitive to the feelings of others and applaud accomplishments no matter if by one’s own school or another school. Evaluation has taken place from arrival at the festival site to the awards presentation. All schools are eligible for this award, but only one group will have the honor of taking this trophy with them back to their school.

The group, accompanied by wonderful parent chaperones, then headed to Six Flags New England. It was a rainy, but no lines experience!

Sunday was a gorgeous day at the aquarium and Quincy Market.

A great trip home, transferring mock trial students halfway home for their next adventure.

Be sure the come out for the Music Boosters Chicken BBQ Fundraiser - Sunday, June 4th at the High School from Noon - 5pm. All levels of ensembles will be performing in the high school auditorium and Phil's Chicken for sale!

Schedule coming to you soon!
