At tonight’s BOE meeting we recognize Pastor Jim Barnes from First Baptist Church in the Town of Maine. Pastor Barnes not only provides snacks to our teachers regularly but also opens his doors to our students when they practice their evacuation & reunification drills.

MEHS has a new club called "Include with M-E" and its purpose is to spread acceptance and promote inclusion of people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). The club is kicking off with a celebration of Inclusive Schools Week from December 4th-8th. At the HS they will start the week with an informational table for the club and will end the week on Friday by wearing Orange for IDD awareness. All other schools are welcome to join in wearing Orange on Friday, 12/8!

Tonight is Opening Night of "Miracle on 34th Street!" 7pm tonight and tomorrow. 2pm on Sunday. Don't forget to bring your non-perishable food donations for the M-EALS program. IMPORTANT UPDATE ON THE HOMECOMING PARADE ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 14th: Due to impending rain in the forecast tomorrow, October 14th, the start time and location of the parade has been changed. Parade start time: 9:00AM (Floats will assemble between 8am - 8:45am) Parade starting location: Visions FCU Headquarters (3301 Country Club Road) Parade route: 3301 Country Club to Hooper Road to 750 Farm to Market Road (High School) Come out and show your Spartan Pride!!

Please be advised that the District Office parking lot is closed until October 10th for repaving/stripping. The pool parking lot and Northminster Church lots are open.

FEMA has scheduled a nationwide test of emergency alert systems for ~2:20 pm on Wednesday, Oct 4th. Nationwide Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) test scheduled for October, 4, 2023 1. On October 4, 2023, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will conduct a nationwide Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) test. 2. The test includes sending a "test message" to all televisions, radios and cell phones. 3. At approximately 2:20 pm Eastern Standard Time, all powered on cellphones within range of a cell tower will receive a test alert message as part of FEMA’s nationwide test of its Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS). 4. The test will occur during school hours, and in some cases coincide with school dismissal time.
