The following is a message from Superintendent Jason Van Fossen:
Extreme Heat for Monday, June 23 and Tuesday, June 24
Maine-Endwell School Community,
In anticipation of extreme heat for Monday and Tuesday, we are taking the following precautions:
Both days are half-days for attendance: the Middle School will be dismissed at 11:30AM and Homer Brink and Maine Memorial will be dismissed at 12:30PM both days.
We will make every attempt to reduce the heat within buildings including the use of fans, portable AC units (where possible), fresh air, etc.
There will be dedicated “cooling rooms” for any immediate heat-related needs.
We will have extra water in our buildings.
We will limit activities and provide frequent breaks and water as needed.
IF YOUR CHILD IS SUSCEPTIBLE TO HEAT, YOU MAY CONSIDER KEEPING THEM HOME.
It has been a very successful school year, and we thank you for your continued support, patience, and willingness to be a collaborative partner. Thank you!
