Selfless, dedicated, kind and caring. Those are just some of the ways to describe High School Math Teacher Karin Mann. In this unique teaching year, Mrs. Mann works tirelessly to make sure her students are provided for both academically and emotionally. Congratulations to Mrs. Mann, the April Maine-Endwell Teachers Association (META) Teacher of the Month.
Despite having to adapt to a new learning style, Mrs. Mann works to create the best learning environment for her students, said Elyse Papa, who co-teaches with Mrs. Mann and nominated her for the honor. She adds that Mrs. Mann creates the best possible learning models for all students, in person, hybrid and full remote.
“Her first thought is always, ‘How is this going to affect the student?’” said Ms. Papa. “She is always looking for new platforms to use.”
It’s “kids first always” for Mrs. Mann!
Each month (META) honors excellence in teaching within our district with the Teacher of the Month award. The award is given to a staff member who demonstrates the following leadership qualities: professionalism and excellence in and out of the classroom; commitment to the well-being of students; high ethical standards; and civic and charitable stewardship. Award winners will be nominated by their peers.
