District holds vaping information night for parents
The district helped to educate adults about youth vaping at an event on Feb. 12.
“Vaping 101: A Conversation Around the Topic of Youth Vaping” highlighted a variety of topics including e-cigarette basics (what vaping devices look like, nicotine types and aerosol ingredients); usage among youth locally and nationally; physical impacts on the teen brain and heart; and concealment methods.
In addition to a panel discussion and question and answer period, attendees had the chance to explore a “Hidden Mischief Room” for signs of vaping and substance use.
Thank you to our event partners, Broome County Legislator Jason Shaw, Broome County Health Department’s Tobacco Free Broome & Tioga Program, and the Family & Children’s Counseling Services.
