Welcome Back staff!

Teachers and guest

Maine-Endwell staff kicked off the new school year by gathering together for celebration and inspiration. Two superintendent’s conference days allowed staff to prepare to welcome students on Sept. 5.

On day one, the group was welcomed by Board of Education President Gregg Armezzani and Superintendent Jason Van Fossen. The focus was on the district Mission Statement - Delivering a premier education to each student- and what it means to be “premier”.

It was also a time for celebrations. New staff members were introduced, staff were honored for years of service and attendance, and 16 teachers were recognized for being selected “Distinguished Teachers” by the Class of 2019. High School Special Education Teacher Glenda Ward was announced as the 2019 Maine-Endwell Teachers Association Golden Apple Award recipient.

On day two, the district welcomed special guest Dr. Bill Daggett, founder and chairman of the International Center for Leadership in Education. Daggett spoke about the need for school districts to be future and growth focused, in order to prepare students, for success in the year 2030 and beyond.

Following the full staff gatherings on both days, staff attended building and grade level meetings and then headed to their classrooms to prepare for the arrival of their students on Sept. 5.
