Reindeer are real! Maine Memorial kindergarten students learned about this type of deer usually associated with the winter season during an AG in the Classroom lesson in December.
The students learned that the animals are indeed real. They have hooves, antlers and fur, they can walk on ice and swim, and they are strong enough pull a sleigh.
Then the students made reindeer food by combining oats, carrots, mushrooms and cranberries. They learned that they can leave it on their lawn to feed animals in the winter who typically dig for food in the snow.
