Little Spartans learn to code!
Maine Memorial UPK and early kindergarten students are learning to code. Members of the Binghamton University Department of Teaching, Learning, & Educational Leadership conduct lessons with the students once a month.
Right now the students are learning about robots and the directions they can move. They have been practicing moving left, right and straight. In their December lesson, the students used arrows to mark the movements of the “Good” Wolf to the Three Little Pigs so that they would work together to build their houses.
Over the coming months the little Spartans will continue to learn the basics of coding with the goal of programing a Code-a-Pillar to move.
