Students learn that proper dental care is as easy as ABCDEFG...!
In February, Dr. Marcus Spera returned to his former elementary school to share important dental health information with our youngest Spartans.
Dr. Spera, a Class of 2008 graduate and dentist at Progressive Dental, visited with students in grades EK to two at Maine Memorial, where he attended school.
Along with Patient Care Coordinator Dixie Kucharski, the pair talked to the students about the importance of taking care of their teeth. They demonstrated the proper way to brush and floss. One trick is to brush teeth as long as it takes to say the alphabet two times!
The students also discussed foods that are good for teeth and some that are not, and they heard a story about what it is like to visit a dentist’s office for an appointment.
Progressive Dental gave each student a toothbrush, toothpaste, and dental floss to take home.
The visit was part of National Children’s Dental Health Month.
Thank you Dr. Spera, Mrs. Kucharski and the rest of the Progressive Dental staff who volunteered their time to support our Spartans!
