The Maine-Endwell School District is accepting applications for its free Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program now until April 12.
To be eligible, the child must be a resident in the Maine-Endwell School District, be four years old on or before December 1st of the year in which they are enrolled in UPK, or be eligible to enter kindergarten the following year.
New York State is funding UPK programs to “provide four-year-old children with a universal opportunity to access high-quality pre-kindergarten programs that prepare them for future school success by developing strong foundational skills in literacy and numeracy.”
Applications are available on the district website: CLICK HERE
. Completed applications can be sent to Molly Goosman, Homer Brink Elementary School, 3618 Briar Lane, Endwell, NY 13760.
The district has 67 openings (half day sessions) among four locations: Maine Memorial (a.m. and p.m.); Future Faces (p.m.); Endwell Nursery (p.m.); and Northminster Preschool (p.m.). If more than 67 applications are received, they will go into a lottery to fill the slots.
