Vocalists participate in Cornell’s Young Men Sing event
Eight High School vocalists had the opportunity to perform with the Cornell University Glee Club during the group’s annual New York Young Men Sing event held at the university on Feb. 9.
Participating in the workshop and concert were Zachary Smith, Justin Klym, Jackson McCauley, Nestor Velez-Mattiace, Elliot Allen, David Liburdi, Connor Nardocci, and Carter Pittarelli, along with HS Chorus Director Kristina Ruffo.
The group spent the morning in a workshop with guest clinician, Rosalind Hall from Brigham Young University, then mingled with the Cornell a cappella group. The event culminated in a concert featuring all singers at the campus’s Sage Chapel.
Cornell University Glee Club’s New York Young Men Sing is a way to encourage male students to continue to sing throughout their high school and college years and in to adult life. This is the event’s 15th year.
