Spotlight Movers encourage their classmates to get active
It’s important for children to be active and to exercise every day in order to grow up healthy. In addition to their physical education classes, there are many opportunities for our Spartans to be physically active outside of the school day.
Homer Brink students can learn about activities, and about the ways their classmates stay fit, thanks to a pair of resource boards in their school’s gym.
The first board includes information about the various activities and sports that are available to children in the community. The students can take home information forms and a monthly calendar of events and activities.
The second board highlights Homer Brink students who are taking their physical fitness to another level.
Homer Brink Spotlight Movers share with their classmates their favorite way to stay active by completing a questionnaire that is posted on the board. In addition to information, the students share a picture of themselves participating in their sport or activity. Dancers, hockey players, cheerleaders, mountain bikers and more have been featured so far.
