Students learn about careers in mental health profession
Middle School students learned about career opportunities in the mental health profession during a presentation on March 29.
Melissa Major, a mental health counselor, and Kim Hayden, an art therapist, spoke to the students about the path to their careers, and the many options in the mental health profession.
They spoke to the students about mental health issues and offered tips on how to cope with stress and anxiety. The students also took part in a mindfulness activity.
The career assembly is part of a series of monthly presentations for all MEMS students. The goal is to provide students with career exploration and exposure. A career fair for all students will take place on April 12.
