Community crowns Top Spartan Chefs

Who are the best cook and baker in Spartan Country? Maine-Endwell Dollars for Scholars hosted its annual Top Spartan Chef competition on March 30 at Endwell Greens.

Over 100 diners tasted food and desserts created by local restaurants, and then voted for their favorite in two categories: The Blue Plate Special (main course), and The Golden Desserts (desserts).

Frank’s Restaurant won in the main course category, and Jaret’s Stuffed Cupcakes took home top honors in the dessert category.

Several M-E High School student organizations served the food: Key Club, Girl Up, the Boys and Girls Swim Teams, the Boys Basketball team, Action Ecology, National Honor Society, Girls Varsity Club, Science Olympiad, the Girls Basketball Team, and Student Government.

“It was an impressive display of the diverse interests of the students at Maine-Endwell – they represented their community very well!” said the event organizer Tricia Cook.

A big THANK YOU goes out to the restaurants and the community members who came out to support our Spartans through Dollars for Scholars!
