Sixth graders analyze character traits in "Wonder"

Remote learning hasn’t dampened the creativity in our students. Sixth graders in Melissa Spierling’s ELA classes shared presentations they made based on the book “Wonder” by R. J. Palacio.

Each student analyzed the character traits of one character from the book. Then the students created a Google slide stating one direct character trait and three indirect traits and backing up each with a quote from the book.

Not only did the students do a great job on recognizing the character traits, but they created impressive presentation slides.

The assignment allowed the students to practice the ELA standards of reading, writing, speaking and listening.
