High School students in Mrs. Spaulding’s classroom carried on one of their favorite holiday traditions: preparing their own Thanksgiving feast!
To prepare, the students wrote a list of the foods they traditionally eat at their family celebration. Then they planned, and prepped their food. They cut, chopped, stirred and mixed, while following directions, for stuffing, pies, green bean casserole, and mashed potatoes. Their adult helpers prepped the turkey and a ham.
On the day of their meal, students took turns preparing the various foods. They each made a place setting card for one of their classmates, set their place at the table, and they watched a Macy’s Day parade.
When it was time to eat, the students and the adults came together to share their special, homemade holiday meal.
