Each year Tom Turkey spends the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving hiding and doing everything he can to escape the holiday dinner table. This year he enlisted Maine Memorial second graders to help him find a unique disguise.
Using found materials, the students dressed their turkey to conceal his true identity. The students got creative using string, material, buttons and more.
Then the students practiced their ELA skills by writing three sentences (complete with capitalization and punctuation) to describe their turkey’s disguise.
This group of birds will surely not be found on the dinner table anytime soon!
