Clubs are back at the Middle School and this group of students is helping to raise awareness for World Down Syndrome Day.

Member of the Middle School‘s Sign Language Club volunteered to assemble World Down Syndrome Day kits for Gigi’s Playhouse, a Down Syndrome Achievement Center located in Vestal. World Down Syndrome Day is celebrated on March 21!

The students learned signs for the words that are connected with the project including heart, love, balloons, celebrate, bag and joy. They decorated bags with messages and then filled them with streamers, blue and yellow balloons, hand prints with the words “Generation G” and the pledge to be accepting, generous and kind, blue and yellow hearts, and a sign showing acceptance. Kits are for schools, businesses and places of work to join in celebrating and promoting kindness and acceptance for ALL!
