This spring Middle School students in Ryan Both’s and John Frieser’s classes created “Passion Projects.” The students researched a subject of their choice, with a focus on social studies or something historical, and then connected the topic to the enduring issue of conflict or cooperation. The project was modeled after Google’s “10% Time,” which allows for the blending of a passion with work.
The students created a presentation that incorporated their research, in the form of text, pictures and video, with an emphasis on their enduring issue. They shared their passion project with their classmates in groups.
