Bill Dundon, Principal
I hope all Homer Brink Families are enjoying the summer weather. Please make sure your children are reading at least a few times per week so they don't experience too much of the "summer slide".
The building is coming along quickly in preparation for the 2019-2020 school year.
ON MONDAY, AUGUST 12 from 5:30-6:30, we will be hosting a community meeting for HB parents and neighbors who want to hear information about the improvements we would see at Homer Brink in our proposed capital project. Please enter through the main lobby. I hope to see you there.
Our Morning Program and Think Tank are important parts of Homer Brink's Character Education program. These are times when we get together as a school community to discuss ways we can be good Homer Brinkers and Maine-Endwell citizens. Please feel free to stop by anytime to see these programs, it's a fun time for kids and adults. Contact the main office for times/dates. We also have a recognition wall we call SPARTAN NATION. If your child comes home with a certificate it means thay are being recognized for being a good leader in the building!
Registering a new student?
Are you registering a new student? We now have a central registration area. It is located at our District Office at 712 Farm-to -Market Road at our High School campus. If you need to register a new student please stop by the District Office to discuss what information is needed. You can call 754-1400 to set up an appointment.
There have been questions regarding homework........We do not have a NO homework policy. We do have a particular scope for daily homework which is to work on READING & MATH.........Reading and practicing your math facts daily are very important to the academic development and readiness at school. Please make sure your child reads at least 20-30 minutes each night, and practices their grade level math facts for about 10-15 minutes. This is an important nightly routine for all of our students. If a teacher feels an area needs to be worked on more they have the ability to send home more to work on those skills. If a student needs a more individualized approach you may be contacted by your child's classroom teacher to discuss next steps regarding work sent home.
Please remember to send your children dressed accordingly for the weather as students will go outside most days for recess
We will usually go outside if the "Feels like" temperature is 20 degress or more. Please look at the weather report each day and dress accordingly for the varying temperatures in our area. Call me with any questions.
