We asked, you responded, we listened. The Board of Education at their April 30 meeting voted not to exceed the allowable tax levy limit of 1.94% for the 2020-21 school year. The board made their decision after reviewing the results of a district-wide survey. The survey received 1100 responses and over 300 comments.
While the board appreciates the support of residents to support a higher tax levy, based on survey results and additional comments from residents, the board recognizes that this is not the right time to exceed the tax levy limit.
Thank you to all the residents who took the time to complete the survey. We value our community and we appreciate your continued support as we strive to deliver a premier education to each Maine-Endwell student.
