HS technology teacher, Sean Keenan, is the META April Liberty Mutual Teacher of the Month
High School teacher Sean Keenan has a passion for technology. As a former engineer, he brings his professional skills to his students as a Technology and Engineering teacher, making the school’s technology classes some of the most popular in the school. That is why Mr. Keenan is the Maine-Endwell Teachers Association (META) Liberty Mutual Insurance “Teacher of the Month” for April.
“Besides the fact that he teaches four different courses, six periods a day, Sean has been instrumental in pushing engineering to the forefront of a lot of our curriculum,” said fellow technology teacher David Beard. Mr. Keenan works tirelessly each day to the benefit of his students, he added.
In addition to teaching several classes, including SUNY Broome Fast Forward college level courses, Mr. Keenan, shares his expertise with his peers. He is a member of local, state and international associations for Technology and Engineering educators. He manages the local association’s website.
Each month Liberty Mutual honors excellence in teaching within our district with the Teacher of the Month award. The award, sponsored by the Maine-Endwell Teachers Association, is given to a teacher who demonstrates the following leadership qualities: professionalism and excellence in and out of the classroom; commitment to the well-being of students; high ethical standards; and civic and charitable stewardship. Award winners will be nominated by their peers.
Congratulations Mr. Keenan!
