HS physical education teacher Tracy Carlini is the February META/Liberty Mutual Teacher of the Month
As a High School PE teacher, Tracy Carlini wants all of her students to be healthy, and that includes the students in the school’s 8:1:1 class. Whether it’s modifying physical activities for students who are unable to participate in typical sports, or helping her students live a healthy lifestyle, Mrs. Carlini cares about the needs of our oldest Spartans. For this reason, and more, Mrs. Carlini is the February Maine-Endwell Teachers Association/Liberty Mutual Teacher of the Month.
“Tracy is creative and invested in healthy bodies for all people,” said special education and 8:1:1 teacher Glenda Ward, who nominated Mrs. Carlini for recognition. “ She knows how to make it fun, but still seem age appropriate. She always speaks with respect to the students and encourages them to do their best.”
Mrs. Carlini desire for well-being and health goes beyond physical activities in class. “She works with me to help improve their eating and encourage healthy habits to carry over to their home lives,” said Mrs. Ward. “She is a Teacher of a Lifetime!”
Each month Liberty Mutual honors excellence in teaching within our district with the Teacher of the Month award. The award, sponsored by the Maine-Endwell Teachers Association, is given to a staff member who demonstrates the following leadership qualities: professionalism and excellence in and out of the classroom; commitment to the well-being of students; high ethical standards; and civic and charitable stewardship. Award winners will be nominated by their peers.
Congratulations Mrs. Carlini!
