Fifth graders celebrate Jackie Robinson Day
Today they will all wear 42! Homer Brink fifth graders celebrated Jackie Robinson Day, April 15, while learning about Robinson’s legacy in ELA. 
Technology allows EK students to be authors, illustrators and narrators of their own books
Elementary school students are sharing what they are learning in class by writing a storybook. But this isn’t the storybook their parents are used to. This technology-based version allows students to be authors, illustrators and narrators all with a tap or a swipe on an iPad using an app called Story Creator.  
Students partner with Good Shepherd Village to growthe Spartan Garden
In March Homer Brink students partnered with residents from Good Shepherd Village in Endwell to plant the seeds that will become the plants in the Spartan Garden. 
This lesson on angles goes "old-school"
Learning about angles is old-school fun for fourth graders in Mrs. Kuzel’s class. Recently students put away their computers and demonstrated their understanding of acute, obtuse, straight, and right angles by constructing them with Tinker Toys and magnets.  
Maine-Endwell named one of nation’s “Best Communities for Music Education”
The Maine-Endwell School District has been named one of the nation’s “Best Communities for Music Education” for 2016 by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation. 
Students learn about overcoming adversity after reading the novel, "Hatchet"
Homer Brink fifth graders in Adriane Deyo’s class used their creativity to share what they learned about overcoming adversity after reading the wilderness survival novel, “Hatchet,” by Gary Paulsen. 
First graders learn about habitats
Homer Brink first graders have been learning how animals adapt to their habitat. In March the students got an up-close and wiggly lesson on the hornworm and its habitat from scientists in the Binghamton University Biology graduate program.
